Be Our Next Apprentice Of The Year

Katie said “I struggled to learn in a classroom environment at school and always found it easier when I could do something more practical. So the apprenticeship at Waterside Medical Centre has been a fantastic opportunity to learn on the job and I’ve really noticed an improvement in my skills and confidence as a result.

“I am delighted to be a finalist and am really looking forward to the awards ceremony. I’m very grateful to the Waterside Medical Centre for the fantastic support they have given me throughout my apprenticeship and now as a member of their permanent team.”

An NHS Apprenticeship in primary care will give you excellent learning, real experience and an attractive salary with real job prospects and benefits such as the NHS pension. But it’s not just about what we can give you – it’s what you can bring to the NHS.

We are looking for people with attitude and a desire to succeed. Show us you've got what it takes to be one of our Apprentices and we'll make sure you have the opportunity to learn all the technical and behavioural skills you need.

We offer a variety of exciting, challenging and rewarding career paths. You could even make it all the way to the top – members of our current Senior Team started life as Apprentices.

The success of NHS primary care is based on the excellence of our staff and we are keen to train more apprentices to provide for future growth...

All our apprentices will go through a formal two year apprentice training programme including off the job tuition with local award winning training providers.

The majority of the training will be in the form of one to one placements in our award winning practice serving 12,500 patients, interspersed with weekly high level skills input from leading NHS managers in the area.

The apprentice project is based around an on the job training concept, which enables us to ensure that the apprentices show interest in what they are learning and that the right work ethic and attitude is adopted from the very start.

Potential career roles include:

  • Customer service
  • Administrator
  • Secretary
  • Practice Manager
